Home Features Welcome from Student Senate President, Dakota Judds

Fellow Bulldogs,

My name is Dakota Judds, and I am the Student Senate President for this academic year. I would like to welcome all students, new and old.

Another exciting and promising year at Concordia has come and I look forward to seeing everyone on campus. For those that are new, you will soon come to realize why Concordia University, Nebraska was the BEST decision you have made up to this point in your life. We have a great campus with an amazing Christian atmosphere. And for our new faculty and staff, I hope that you enjoy your new position working with our students!

Thanks to the success of past administrations of the Student Senate, the students have accomplished a great deal, but there is always more work to be done. We have seen improvements in the cafeteria and student schedules and changes to both campus policy and property. These accomplishments were made possible because of our students!

The Student Senate is not just for a select group of individuals to meet every week and carry out changes they themselves want to see. The Senate is for all students to come to make their complaints, concerns and ideas to a panel of Student Leaders, who are determined to do what is best for their fellow student body and Concordia. The recommendations heard before the Senate are discussed and voted on before being brought to the University Administration.

The best part of our Senate is that if you want to be a Senator, all you have to do is attend weekly Tuesday meetings at 6:15 p.m. in the TLEC Auditorium. If you have the desire to join Student Senate, or have any questions about what we do, contact me or talk to another Senate Officer; we are always looking for motivated individuals who strive to see a change on campus.

Not many colleges can say that they have a small and close knit community, as we have at Concordia. Take advantage of this, especially if you need help! We have a wide array of gifted individuals on our campus that are willing to go the extra mile with you and help in any circumstance.

If you ever feel homesick, a little overwhelmed or like you have made the wrong decision, especially our newer students, do not hesitate to reach out. College is not always an easy experience and there will more than likely be times your limits are tested. Remember God is there for you and so are those around you.

I strongly recommend that everyone take advantage of every opportunity on campus and in your college career. It will fly by fast and you will graduate before long. College is a chance to challenge yourself academically and spiritually, so do not take it for granted.

This will be exciting year and I pray that the year starts well for everyone. The year is already going to start off on a high note as Seward is going to be blessed with a once in a lifetime event as we will experience totality from a solar eclipse.

Now go make new connections with those around you and make memories that you will remember forever! There is a lot to look forward to this year and in the years to come!

In Christ,

Dakota Judds

Student Senate President
