Home Sports Bulldogs’ Defense Prevails over Defenders

by Chris Johnstone

Concordia women’s basketball team continued conference play as they traveled to Sioux Center, Iowa and played the Dordt Defenders and won convincingly, 81-43.

Every Bulldog checked into the game and freshman forward Philomena Lammers led the way with 13 points and three steals in just 16 minutes of play.

The Bulldogs currently sit at the top of the GPAC and currently have a 17-game win streak.

The Bulldogs forced 38 turnovers and held the Defenders to 28% shooting.

“Our defense is definitely one of the keys to our success his season and everyone on our team is ready to go out and play with 100% effort, which attributes to being able to force turnovers and to hold our opponents to a low shooting percentage” said sophomore forward Quinn Wragge.

Wragge led the team with eight rebounds, with 12 other Bulldogs scoring at least four points each.

The Bulldogs continue conference play as they take on Midland University on Wednesday, Jan. 11 inside Walz Arena. Tip-off is at 6 p.m.

“To prepare for Midland, we will watch some film from when we played them last time and learn from what we did in the previous game and just keep doing what we have been doing” said Wragge.
