The Concordia Bulldogs beat the Briar Cliff Chargers 3 sets to 1 in a well-contested match on Friday Oct. 5.

The first set was close, with neither team able to pull ahead quickly. The Bulldogs had a four-point lead early on and were able to overcome a late 24-23 deficit to win 26-24.

The Chargers came back strong in the second set, taking a four-point lead of their own and maintaining and extending it throughout much of the set. They came out victorious, winning 25-20.

The third set was a turning point for the Concordia. Though it was close during much of the set, the Bulldogs won six straight points after being tied at 19.

In the final set, the Bulldogs started off with a 7-1 lead. They were able to keep this momentum going all the way to 14-7. The Chargers fought back from there to tie it at 17, but the Bulldogs put away the set at 25-19.

The Bulldogs are now 12-7 and will go on to play Hastings at home on Wednesday, Oct. 10.
