Second-ranked Concordia women’s basketball team clinched the outright GPAC title as the Bulldogs defeated the Briar Cliff Chargers inside the Newman Flanagan Arena 90-70.

Sophomore Quinn Wragge had a 17 point, 11 rebound performance along with a perfect 9-9 from the free throw line. Junior Mary Janovich also chipped in with 17 points in 20 minutes.

Briar Cliff guard Kailey Burke scored 21 points and pulled down 11 rebounds, but it was not enough as the Bulldogs held the Chargers to 37 percent from the field throughout the game.

The Bulldogs turned the ball over a season high of 39 times throughout the game and shot just 36 percent from the field in the first half. The second half proved to be better for the Bulldogs as they shot 57 percent from the field and 53 percent from beyond the 3-point line.

The Bulldogs have a quick turnaround as they take on Dakota Wesleyan University on Sunday, Feb. 12.
