The Concordia women’s tennis team lost 8-1 to Kansas Wesleyan on Wednesday and fell to 1-9 on the year.

Concordia earned only one win on the day, which came from sophomore Katie Hertz at the No. 6 spot in singles play. Hertz won in straight sets 6-4 and 6-1.

Freshman Kayla Smock was close to earning a second point for the Bulldogs, but fell in three sets to Chelsea Bearrick. Smock lost 6-2, 2-6 and 11-9.

The Bulldogs will be back in action tomorrow at 3 p.m. when they take on Friends University.
