Concordia University partners with Lincoln Saltdogs for Faith Night

Despite a 9-1 loss for the Lincoln Saltdogs baseball team on Saturday, fans were treated to a showing of faith and fellowship in its partnership with Concordia University for Faith Night.
The American Association of Professional Baseball matchup against the Kansas City Monarchs was full of Bulldog fun, starting with worship set by Concordia alumnus Terry Kenow.
“It honestly does mean the world. Being able to do something like this is my dream. It gets Christ into the community. The more that we can be together, the more presence we bring in the Spirit, the less opportunity the devil has to work his way into secular things,” Kenow said.
The game was started with a curveball first pitch from Concordia campus pastor, Rev. Ryan Matthias. Concordia students were heavily featured between innings as they participated in games and competitions.
Junior track and field racewalking All-American Jonny Jurchen took down Frozone in a sprint around the field while other Concordia students competed in a dizzy bat race.
The event, organized by the Saltdogs and Concordia Student Life, is an effort to help students see more of Nebraska than just Seward. Nick Wiles, the Assistant Director of Student Life, hopes that these kinds of events are memorable for students and that they can find joy because of them.
