Concordia’s Student Life Office hosted stress-relief craft night for students with friendship bracelets, painting supplies, and snacks in Janzow Top on Tuesday evening.
Attendees enjoyed fresh fruits, pretzels, and popcorn as they worked on crafts of their choosing, and attendees praised the event as a success.
Sophomore Emily Lindau paused her painting of a butterfly and said that she had been stressed out and came to make a craft at a friend’s invitation.
“It has been a lot of fun, [it’s] been good company,” said Lindau.
Senior Cole Buckley agreed. “(When I heard about it) thought I would come check it out. It’s a good stress reliever,” said Buckley. “Crafts often for me have just been a time to de-stress and I can have fun and get creative.”
Cheyenne Vahl, a sophomore Paul Scholar who works for SLO, came up with the idea, because she has enjoyed crafts as a stress reliever since she was six years old.
“Lately I’ve been super stressed with classes, and I know I’m not the only one,” she said. She continued, saying that the event was designed to “let people chill and have a nice chill time to do crafts.”
This event is one of a series of wellness events hosted by the Student Life Office in an initiative called Bulldogs in Balance that focuses on different areas of wellness.
