The fifth-ranked Bulldog volleyball team lost to the fourth-ranked Midland Warriors 3-0 at Friedrich Arena Tuesday night, ending a nine-game winning streak at home.

The Bulldogs started the first set strong with a 3-0 lead but the Warriors pulled away at the end, winning the set 25-20.

During the second set, the Warriors and the Bulldogs traded points back and forth until the Warriors went on a five-point run to take their first lead. Camryn Opfer kept the Bulldogs in a close fight with seven kills and eight digs but the Warriors took the second set 25-23.

In the third set the Bulldogs started slow but tied the score at 22. The Warriors pulled away with the win, 25-23.

The Bulldogs had 13 blocks. Opfer, a junior, recorded nine kills, 12 digs, and four blocks. Sophomore Gabi Nordacker had eight kills and four blocks. Junior Bree Burtwistle recorded 29 assists and 10 digs.
The Bulldogs will enter the postseason with a record of 21-4, 12-4 in the Great Plains Athletic Conference.
Junior, Kennedy Vanscoy said the team was confident going into the postseason.
“We know that we have the training and we have the drive to do some amazing things and do something no other Concordia team has done,” Vanscoy said. “We have the personnel and the experience to find success in the GPAC tournament and nationals so we feel good going into the postseason.”
