The Concordia University cross-country team placed middle of the pack at the Woody Greeno Invite, which featured teams across all divisions of college athletics.

On what was a foggy and damp morning, the men’s and women’s teams each finished 14th, with the men facing 22 other squads and the women competing with 21 others. NCAA Division I and II teams dominated the top ten in both categories.

The women had the top Bulldog finisher on the day, with sophomore Keeli Green, who placed 16th out of 231 and ran a time of 18:21.78 for the 5k race. Sophomore Annaka Schlachter came in 89th with a 19:56.65, freshman Ashley Robertson placed 124th, junior Macee Ripkee came in 126th, sophomore Alison Stepanek was 130th and freshman Lilly Dall rounded out the top six as she came in 136th.

The men were led by junior Trey Robertson, who claimed 41st place in the 8k with a 25:42.04. Junior Aidan Limback was Concordia’s second runner as he finished 93rd with a 26:24.69. Sophomore Vaughn Hendrickson came in 110th, junior Ransom Watts placed 116th, senior Trevor Kuncl got 120th, and junior Justin Sherman placed 131st.

Both teams kept their second through sixth runners quite close together in the standings, which should bode well for team success once they get into some more Great Plains Athletic Conference meets

The Bulldogs have two weeks to prepare for their next meet, which is Oct. 4 in North Sioux City, South Dakota. The Briar Cliff University Invite will begin at 10 a.m.
