Women’s Basketball Bulldog Defense Holds Against Midland Warriors

No. 14 ranked Concordia women’s basketball team beat the undefeated Midland Warriors on Wednesday night at Wikert Event Center 89-50.
Thirteen Bulldogs saw the court for more than 10 minutes each. Junior guard Dani Anderson scored an efficient 20 points on 7-11 from the court in just 17 minutes of action.
The Bulldogs were 4-1 overall coming into the game and 1-0 in conference play, with their most recent victory over Northwestern College in their GPAC opener last Wednesday. The Warriors came into the game with an undefeated record and their most recent victory coming from Ottawa University. The loss to Concordia was Midland’s GPAC home opener.
Nebraska native forward Quinn Wragge scored 16 points on 8-9 shooting on the night.
“I think our whole team attributed to the win last night,” Wragge said. “Everyone was prepared and showed up to play.”
Midland Warriors guard, Amanda Hansen led the way for the Warriors with 10 points but it was not enough to break through the Bulldog defense as Concordia held the home team to just under 27 percent shooting.
“We have been working super hard on our defense and I think that payed off,” Wragge said. “We also had a ton of energy coming from our players and from the bench, which was awesome.”
The Bulldogs continue conference play as they take on Mount Marty College on Saturday, Nov. 19 at Walz Arena. Tip-off is at 2 p.m.
