The men’s soccer team traveled on the road to face off against fifth-ranked Missouri Valley College on Sat. March 27. Missouri Valley College was able to sneak away with a 2-1 victory over the Bulldogs. The Vikings are the highest ranked opponent the Bulldogs have faced all season. 

The Bulldogs couldn’t muster up a ton of shots, only racking off four total shots and two on goal. Meanwhile, the Vikings racked up 17 total shots eight of them on goal. 

Coming out at half, the Vikings scored the first goal of the match in the 52-minute scored by Miroslav Markovic. Sophomore Isaiah Shaddick was able to equalize the score with a goal of his own on the 70’ mark. The only other shot on goal came from freshman Ryan Wokutch. 

The Vikings scored the game winning goal in the 85’ mark, that goal was scored by Kainan Dos Santos. Dos Santos had three total shots, two being on goal. Markovic would also finish with three shots, two being on goal. The Bulldogs wouldn’t get another opportunity after Dos Santos goal. On the other side, freshman Federico Andrea Simonetti finished with six total saves. 

Concordia now moves to 9-5-2 overall. The Bulldogs have one more regular season game before the Great Plains Athletic Conference Tournament. They will host Midland who is 3-9-1 on Friday, April 2 at 3 p.m. This game will be a non-conference matchup.
