Home Sports Dance and Cheer Teams Go 3-1 at the Concordia Duals

Concordia’s Cheer and Dance teams finished 1-1 and 2-0 respectively on Saturday in the Concordia Duals competition at home.

The cheer team scored 72.45 and 79.7, and dance scored 79 and 82.95 in the Concordia Duals competition. The event had a total of 28 duels, with 18 schools competing, and featured unique routines from each team. Friedrich Arena was filled with energy and cheering for each performance throughout the event.

The cheer team lost to Kansas Wesleyan 77.55–72.45 and defeated Columbia University 79.7–46.04. The dance team won both of their duels against Northwestern University and William Penn University, with scores of 79-63.1 and 82.95-82.65 respectively.

The Bulldogs also honored the dance and cheer teams’ seniors: Katie Birtell, Madi Koch, Lizbeth Vargas-Tapia, Brenden Ingram, Sabrina Reed and Kathryn Taylor.

Cheer and dance head to Dordt University next Saturday for one last invitational before the Great Plains Athletic Conference championships.
