Home Sports Midland Hands Bulldogs First Conference Loss

The No. 18 Concordia volleyball team fell to 14-4 overall and 3-1 in GPAC after losing in straight sets to No. 4 Midland University at home on Wednesday, Sept. 23.

The Bulldogs had chances in each of the three sets to put themselves in position to win the set, but Midland’s offense proved to be too much. The Warriors won 25-20, 26-24 and 25-18.

Set one was back and forth until Midland rallied off four straight points to gain a 19-16 advantage before closing out the set on a 6-4 run.

In set two, the Bulldogs held a 23-20 lead before Midland outscored Concordia 6-1 to close the set.

Midland trailed early in the third set before closing out the set and match with a 17-4 run.

Midland outhit Concordia .213 to .058 for the match.

The Bulldogs will look to return to their winning ways as they travel to Iowa to take on No. 11 Northwestern College at 3 p.m. on Sept. 26.
