The No. 2 ranked Concordia women’s basketball team had their 21-game GPAC win streak snapped by No. 12 Dakota Wesleyan inside the Corn Palace on Sunday, Feb. 12. The Bulldogs were defeated 53-75 in the team’s lowest scoring game this season.
In a game where only two Bulldogs reached double figures in scoring, Concordia was held to just 25 percent shooting from the field throughout the afternoon. Junior guard Mary Janovich had 12 points, nine of which were from free throws, and senior guard Shelby Quinn had 11.
In the first quarter, the Bulldogs failed to score for the first six minutes until sophomore Quinn Wragge’s jump shot fell.
On Saturday, the Bulldogs had clinched regular season GPAC champions as they downed the Briar Cliff Chargers on their home floor. The 21-game win streak of GPAC games and 26-game win streak overall was the longest streak during coach Drew Olson’s tenure.
The Bulldogs have a few days off before they finalize the regular season with a road game at Hastings College, and then a home game against Dordt College. The Bulldogs will take on Hastings on Wednesday, Feb. 15 on the Broncos home floor. Tip-off is at 6 p.m.
