Caleb Secondary Education Workshop Sept. 17-18

All secondary education students who student teach are required to attend. The workshop will be in TLEC Seminar Room 111 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 17 and 7:45 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 18. The presenters will be a group from Orange Lutheran High School, Orange, California.

 

Law and Justice Club to host speaker Sept. 22

Seward County Attorney Wendy Elston will speak in the TLEC auditorium at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 22. Topics include “The Law: What is Happening in Seward County?” and the Gentlemen’s Club.

 

Joshua Elementary Education Workshop Sept. 24-25

All elementary, early childhood and special education students who student teach this semester are required to attend. The workshop will be in TLEC Seminar Room 111 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 24 and 7:45 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 25. The presenters will be a group from Christ Community Lutheran School, Kirkwood, Missouri.

 

Plum Creek Children’s Literary Festival to take place Oct. 1-3

More than 1,000 children are expected to attend Concordia’s annual Plum Creek Children’s Literary Festival. The festival is takes place across campus from Oct.1- 3.

 

Concordia to host speaker on Oct. 7

Dr. J.D. Bowers from the University of Missouri will speak at 12:40 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 7 in the TLEC auditorium. He will discuss the topic, “The World Has Failed: An Evaluation of Contemporary Genocide Studies and Activism” as part of Concordia’s Looking Beyond Speaker Series.

 

Concordia homecoming and alumni reunion set for Oct. 9-11

The 2015 homecoming weekend will begin Oct. 9 and continue through the weekend with events including a football game versus Nebraska Wesleyan University and the SAC dance. The history department is the emphasis of the alumni reunion. Alumni who studied history are invited to participate in celebration of the department’s professors and academic rigor.
