Home Sports Ask an Athlete: What is it Like Transferring to Concordia?

by Chris Johnstone

Chucky Hedrick, a junior on the wrestling team, is a newcomer to Concordia. The wrestler competed for two seasons at Pratt Community College in Kansas, where he starred in the 165lb weight class.

“The transition from different colleges is not easy,” Hedrick said. “Meeting new people, living in a new state, working with new coaches and teammates. It is a transition but I am soaking it all in and learning every day.”

”The moment I walked on campus I could feel the close knit family of the student body that Concordia has,” Hedrick said. “My teammates and coaches welcomed me with open arms and I have already made some great friends that are athletes and some great students also.”

Hedrick has lived all over the United States, in small towns and big cities on the west coast, the east coast and in the Midwest.

“Seward has some of the most friendly and helpful people of anywhere I have been to,” Hedrick said.
