Coming off a doubleheader yesterday, the Concordia Women’s Volleyball team continued to host the Bulldog bash and won both matches against NCAA DII Missouri Southern State University 25-19, 25-22, 19-25, 29-27 and York College 25-9, 25-14, 20-25, 25-14.

The Bulldogs went 3-1 throughout the Bulldog Bash weekend and now sit at 5-5 on the 2017 season.

Against Missouri Southern State, 4 Bulldogs reached into the double digits in the kills column and Senior Jocelyn Garcia led the defensive effort with 19 digs.

“This weekend was really fun, there was a ton of volleyball that happened, while it was tough on our bodies, we needed the matches,” said Sophomore Alex La Plant. “We needed the learning moments, we needed the experience playing together.

In the second match of the day against York College, La Plant led the charge with 15 kills as the Bulldogs won 3 sets to 1.

“We get better everytime we touch the court together and I think that’s why we have such a bright future and love playing volleyball together so much,” said La Plant.

The Bulldogs now enter conference season as they square off against Midland University (7-3) on Wednesday in Fremont, Ne. Tip off is set for 7:30 p.m.
