Home Sports Bulldogs Fend Off Cougars in CIT Consolation Game

Concordia’s men’s basketball team won their Concordia Invitational Tournament consolation game against the Concordia University – Chicago Cougars with a final score of 77-69.

The Bulldogs established their lead early in the first half and kept it throughout the game despite the Cougars’ attempts to recover from the deficit.

Starters for the game included #3 junior Guard Brevin Sloup, #5 freshman Guard Carter Kent, #31 junior Guard/Forward Tanner Shuck, #10 freshman Guard Justin Wiersema and #30 junior Forward Chuol Biel.

The Bulldogs led by 11 points at the half with a score of 34-25, a lead which they increased to a 22-point lead in the second half.

The Cougars came back midway through the second half and even cut Concordia Nebraska’s lead to seven points.

Lead scorers for the game were Sloup with 21 points, Shuck with 20 points and Kent with 18 points.

Sloup was named as part of the 68th Concordia Invitational Tournament All-Tournament Team.
