Home Sports CUNE Women Take Home 29th Title in Concordia Invitational Tournament History

As the No. 1 Concordia University – Nebraska women’s team entered the 68th Concordia Invitational Tournament championship game against the Concordia University – Ann Arbor Cardinals, commentators described the two teams as “Goliath” and “David.”

This description came Bulldogs advanced to the CIT championships to face CUAA’s women’s team, a team which holds a 5-20 record so far in the season.

Starters for the game include #55 junior Guard Grace Barry, #5 sophomore Guard Taylor Cockerill, #4 junior Guard Riley Sibbel, #30 senior Forward Quinn Wragge and #42 junior Forward Philomena Lammers.

After staying ahead in the first two quarters and finishing with a score of 49-30 at the half, the Bulldogs increased their lead throughout the rest of the game to reach a final score of 82-56.

This win is the team’s sixth CIT title in a row, with Wragge, a senior, getting her fourth title of her college career.
