The Concordia Bulldog men’s golf A team finished in 13th place at the Siouxland Men’s Invite, hosted by Northwestern, with a total score of 920 (330-301-289) through three rounds, while the B team placed right behind them in 14th place with a score of 924 (320-305-299).
Senior Jude Elgert was the top finisher for the Bulldogs with a score of 224 (85-71-68) after improving drastically from round one to three. A 68 is the lowest single-round score for Elgert this season; he finished T37 for the tournament. Sophomore Calvin Zabloudil was just two strokes behind Elgert with a score of 226, and he finished T40.
Elgert and Zabloudil were alone in the top 50 for all the Bulldogs this week. However, there were five total placers in the top 60; the next three were all golfers from the B team: junior Landon Weinandt, freshman Wyatt Groves, and sophomore Logan Krabbenhoft. They shot scores of 229, 230 and 231, respectively.
The Bulldogs will compete in the Hastings JV Invite on Sept. 17. The Bulldogs head back to Iowa for their next tournament on Sept. 21 for the Bent Tree Intercollegiate in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
