The Concordia men’s basketball team fell to Northwestern College 102-72 in the Great Plains Athletic Conference Championship game on Tuesday.
The Bulldogs struggled to keep up with Northwestern’s fast-paced start and trailed 57-32 in the first half, which set the tone for the remainder of the game. Despite their efforts to regroup in the second half, the Bulldogs were unable to close the gap as Northwestern pulled away to win the conference tournament title.
Concordia finished 47.4% from the field and 40% from three-point range. The Bulldogs’ offense was balanced in scoring, with three players reaching double figures.
Senior Zac Kulus led the team with 20 points on 7-14 shooting, including six three-pointers. Junior Brooks Kissinger added 17 points, five assists, and two rebounds, while Sophomore Dane Jacobson contributed 11 points and four rebounds.
With the loss, the Bulldogs’ GPAC tournament postseason run comes to an end, and they will wait for the national selection show to see if they receive an at-large bid to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics National Tournament.
