Concordia had eight first-place finishes, nine-second place finishes, and 14 third-place finishes at the Fred Beile Classic in Doane, Neb. on Saturday, Jan. 29.

Sophomore Christopher Wren won second place in the men’s weight throw with a 19.38-meter throw. Senior Sarah Ragland won first in the women’s weight throw with a 17.37-meter throw. Senior Morgan De Jong also won second in that event with a 16.99-meter throw. Junior Andy Amos won third in the men’s shot put with a 14.47-meter throw, and junior Jordyn Anderson won second in women’s shot put with a 13.14-meter throw.

In the women’s long jump, sophomore Katie Severt won second with a 5.08-meter jump. In men’s high jump, sophomore Wyatt Loga won third with a 2.04-meter jump. In women’s high jump, sophomore Amy Richert and freshman Hannah Newton tied for second with a 1.60-meter jump.

Sophomore Chase Berry won third in the men’s pole vault with a 4.50-meter vault. Junior Erin Mapson won first in the women’s pole vault with a 3.70-meter vault. Sophomore Sydney Reichert won second in the same event with a 3.12-meter vault.

Moving on to the track events, Concordia won first place in the men’s distance medley relay with a time of 10:19.32. Concordia also won first in the men’s 4×400 meter relay with a time of 3:24.21 and first in the women’s 4×400 meter relay with a time of 4:02.99.

Sophomore Micah Willweber won second in the men’s mile with a time of 4:42.21. Freshman Charlie Hayden won third in the men’s mile with a time of 4:43.85.

Sophomore Anna McCoy won third in women’s 60-meter hurdles with a time of 0:09.99. Junior Mark Cooke won third in the men’s 60-meter dash with a time of 0:07.11.

Junior Sarah Lewis won second in the women’s 400-meter dash with a time of 0:59.39. Junior Rachel Battershell also won third in that event with a time of 0:59.43. Senior Jacob Jennings won third in the men’s 400-meter dash with a time of 0:50.94.

In the women’s 600 meter run, junior Jacee Pfeifer won first place with a time of 1:40.61. In the men’s 600 meter run, junior Grant Lammers won third with a time of 1:26.85.

In the women’s 800 meter run, senior Keri Bauer and sophomore Aubrey Rathke won first with a time of 2:22.94 and third with a time of 2:36.07 respectively. In the men’s 800, sophomore Calvin Rhode won third with a time of 1:59.21.

Sophomore Rylee Haecker won first in the women’s 1000 meter run with a time of 2:58.37. Sophomore Kylahn Heritage won third in the same event with a time of 3:07.46. In the men’s 1000, freshman Samuel Plante won third with a time of 2:40.35. In the women’s 3000 meter run, sophomore Grace Reiman won second with a time of 11:13.43.

Track and Field athletes compete again on Feb. 4 in the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational in Lincoln, Neb., and in the Concordia University Classic. The Husker Invitational start time is yet to be announced, but the Concordia University Classic events begin at 12 p.m.
