Several performances by small ensembles will open the Concordia Concert Band’s first concert of the 2022-23 school year, which is set for 3 p.m. Sunday at Weller Chapel.

The Concert Band will perform four pieces during the concert’s second half, including Robert Sheldon’s “Prelude on an Old English Hymn” and Samuel Hazo’s “Ride.”

Concert Band members have been preparing for the upcoming performance for several months.

“Everyone is showing a high level of love and dedication to the program,” said junior Isaac Weander. “I’m especially excited for the freshmen and new members to finally feel the payoff of a successful concert after working so intently for the last few months.”

The Concert Band will take part in the Honor Band and Orchestra day on Nov. 11, along with Christmas at Concordia, which will take place from Dec. 2 through 4.
