Home Sports Concordia Softball Ends Texas Trip with Split

by Garrett Suchanek

The Concordia softball team ended its Texas trip by splitting a pair of games Saturday morning. The Bulldogs (3-2) dropped the first game to Tabor College (Kansas) 4-2, but responded with a 4-3 win over William Penn University.

In the first game of the day, the Bluejays tamed the bats of the Bulldogs, but in the second game Concordia found life late. Sophomore Autumn Owens sparked the Bulldogs first with a solo shot and then in the seventh inning with a double. Owens’ double led the seventh inning off for the Bulldogs, which Concordia used to start a three-run inning to give the Bulldogs a 4-3 advantage and win.

The Bulldogs will now have three weeks to prepare for their next competition. Concordia will travel to Tucson, Arizona, for 10 games from March 6-11.
