Concordia defeated Morningside 3-0 on Saturday in sets scored 25-17, 25-21, and 25-13, giving them a Senior Day win over the Mustangs. This win is the 16th of the year for the Bulldogs.

The Bulldogs swept the Mustangs with strong performances from some of their key senior athletes. Junior Bree Burtwistle finished the day with 38 assists from her setter position. Tallying kills from those assists was junior Kalee Wiltfong, who collected 10 kills across the three sets. Defensively, junior Camryn Opfer collected 12 digs and on the offensive side notched eight kills.

Coach Ben Boldt spoke about the team’s ability to start strong, saying, “I thought we came in focused and that we came out aggressive.” Boldt then addressed the impact of the seniors on the team, saying, “They’ve done a really good job of just embodying our core values and setting the tone and standard for all the people that have come behind them.”

The Bulldogs are now 16-1 on the season and 7-1 in the Great Plains Athletic Conference. The team will travel to North Dakota on Friday to take on Jamestown.
