Home Sports Concordia Women’s Basketball Wins Top-10 Matchup

by Garrett Suchanek

A night after blowing out No. 24 Mayville State, the Concordia women’s basketball team took down No. 6 University of Jamestown 86-69 to improve to 2-0 on the season.

Concordia had a different style of game today as the Bulldogs were tied after one quarter and up 38-36 at the half.

In the second half, the Bulldogs found their offense and defensively forced chaos on the Jimmies.

After holding an eight-point lead going into the fourth quarter, the Bulldogs pulled away early in the quarter to cruise to a 17-point win.

Senior Becky Mueller led the Bulldogs with 25 points. Sophomore Mary Janovich and freshman Quinn Wragge both finished with double-digit points and added 15 points apiece.

Concordia will have over a week off to prepare for its next game, which will be on the road against Hastings College at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 18.
