The Concordia volleyball team cruised past rival Doane to remain undefeated Wednesday night. The Bulldogs continued their dominance with a 3-0 sweep. This sweep marks Concordia’s seventh of the season.
Concordia lost the first point of the first set but proceeded to lead the rest of the way, winning the set 25-11. The second set yielded the same result, as the Bulldogs held off a late set comeback to win 25-14. Concordia wrapped the match up neatly with another easy 25-14 victory to complete the sweep.
Sophomore Ashley Keck and senior Camryn Opfer led the Bulldogs in kills with nine apiece. Keck also led the team in digs with 10. Cassidy Knust was right behind her with nine digs of her own. Senior Bree Burtwistle had another great game, setting 35 of the team’s 48 sets.
Concordia is now 10-0 overall and 3-0 in the Great Plains Athletic Conference. They travel to Omaha on Sept. 16 to play College of Saint Mary at 3 p.m.
