The Bulldogs once again competed in a barn burner with a fellow GPAC school. Concordia pulled out the victory over Morningside on Feb. 6 with a score of 83-79.

The first quarter started out with a back and forth lead change for both teams. Junior Chandler Folkerts connected on two sets of free throws to book end two 3-pointers made by teammate junior Eli Ziegler. This offensive momentum extended the Bulldog’s lead to 27-23 with less than 10 minutes left to play. After keeping the four-point lead, the Bulldogs closed the first half leading 45-41.

The game continued in limbo, but the Bulldogs continued to put up a fight. Concordia pulled ahead 75-69 with 2:32 left in play, and the Mustangs could not halt the Bulldogs’ momentum. Concordia came out on top in the end.

The Bulldogs were led by the duo of Folkerts and Ziegler who scored 22 and 17 points respectively. Senior Jamie Pearson contributed in 21 points as well.

The Bulldogs will continue their season on Wednesday, Feb. 10 against GPAC foe Midland University in Walz Arena. The Bulldogs stand at 16-10 and 8-9 in conference play.
