Home News Music Building has new face for new year

By Victoria Cameron

Concordia hired new Administrative Assistant for Music Morgan Groninger. She began working over the summer after Lana Eiting, former Administrative Assistant for Music, retired in May.

Groninger attended the University of Nebraska Kearney and earned a Bachelor of Arts in music with a vocal emphasis. She has been involved in concert choirs, show choir, dance and theater.

“My whole life revolved around music,” Groninger said. “It also helps me know how the students are feeling. I understand the stress of juries, auditions, and senior recitals.”

Groninger’s duties focus on making the Music Department run smoothly.

“I keep track of student requirements for their music majors, help plan and schedule the music events, keep track of the music budgets, and just about everything in between (including saving the Koi if they decide to jump out of their pond),” Groninger said.

Groninger is excited for students to return to campus so she can meet and connect with them. She is ready to serve in whatever capacity she can, whether or not it is related to studies.

“I know college is super stressful and sometimes you just need to get something off your chest,” Groninger said. “I also really love ‘70’s music and it will be playing in my office almost all the time, so I’ve got some pretty good music suggestions if they need a break from all the ‘traditional’ music they have to study.”
