In an intense Great Plains Conference matchup, the Concordia Bulldogs women’s soccer team played to a 1-1 tie against the Dordt Defenders on Oct. 25. Dordt scored in the first half, and Concordia responded in the 84th minute with a standout goal from senior Taylor Slaymaker.

The Bulldogs controlled much of the game, outshooting Dordt 16-6, but were only able to convert one goal.

Coach Nick Smith reflected on the team’s performance.

“I think our second half today was really a step forward. In the second half, we outshot them 10-0, unfortunately, only getting one goal. The idea for me is that we’re going to build off of that into Wednesday, which is our regular season finale against Doane,” Smith said.

Concordia will face its rival, Doane University, on Wednesday, October 29, in its final regular-season match in the Great Plains Conference.
