Home News Sower sports roundup: Week of Feb. 1

The Bulldogs opened their spring sports season this week with positive outcomes across the board. Here’s what Bulldogs fans might have missed.

Baseball:

No. 16 Concordia baseball traveled to Oklahoma City for its season-opening road trip, finishing 3-1. Concordia swept both games against the Oklahoma City Stars, 8-6 and 6-3. The Bulldogs split the two-game set against No. 22 Bellevue 5-2 and 2-5.

Senior Bronx Lewis hit a two-RBI go-ahead home run in the sixth inning of the first game, helping complete the comeback win against the Oklahoma City Stars. Lewis finished the weekend with six total RBIs and joined his teammates junior Carson Burnett and freshman Andrew Fetty in hitting home runs during the first four games.

Burnett and Fetty both hit home runs, fueling the Bulldogs offence in their first game against ranked competition, Bellevue. Concordia dropped the rematch against Bellevue, resulting in the only loss in this early season.
