The  Bulldogs volleyball team took down Doane University in a close game, scoring three sets with a final score of 23-25.

The Doane Tigers were quite the competitive team and gave the Bulldogs a fight. The Bulldogs came out on top in all three sets with scores of 22-25, 23-25, and 23-25.

The team had to work together and communicate with each other in order to play solid defense against Doane’s own Kennedy Scheele with 10 kills. Concordia freshman Gabi Nordaker matched her, but led the team in kills with 10 as well.

Concordia blocked a lot of what Doane tried to send over the net with a total of six team blocks. Junior Arleigh Costello was another force to be reckoned with sending over nine kills. Senior Tara Callahan helped with a total of 35 assists tonight to the team.

With a record of 12-3 overall, Concordia currently stands in third with a guarantee of the top three spots within the Great Plains Athletic Conference standings. One last win in Walz Arena for the eight seniors is a great memory that they will remember forever.

The Bulldogs volleyball team will finish out their regular season on Nov. 3 at Hastings College. Hastings currently stands in fifth in the GPAC with a 6-5 record.
