The No. 13 Concordia women’s basketball team saw its Great Plains Athletic Conference tournament run come to an end with a 71-65 road loss to last year’s GPAC champions, National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics No. 1, Dordt, in the semifinals.

The Bulldogs controlled much of the first half and took a 32-39 lead into halftime. The turning point of the game came in the third quarter when Dordt outscored the Bulldogs 23-14.

Concordia attempted a 19-point comeback in the fourth quarter, but it wasn’t enough to overcome Dordt’s offensive pressure and second-chance opportunities.

The Bulldogs shot 38.6 percent from the field and 42.1 percent from three-point range. Freshman Ayla Roth led the Bulldogs with 14 points and six rebounds. Junior Sammy Leu added 11 points, while Junior Raelyn Kelty finished with 10 points.

With the loss, Concordia’s GPAC postseason runs come to an end, and they will watch the national selection show to see if they will receive a likely at-large bid to the NAIA national tournament. If selected, they will also see who their first-round opponent will be in the first round.
