The Concordia’s men’s basketball team closed its regular season with a thriller, an 82-79 road win over Hastings on Saturday.

The Bulldogs led 38-35 at halftime and scored 44 points to match Hastings’ comeback attempt during the second half. Concordia was up by three points entering the final minutes and made enough plays at the free-throw line to preserve the win.

The Bulldogs shot efficiently throughout the game, finishing at 56.9 percent from the field and 50 percent from the three-point range by hitting 11 three-pointers. Concordia also recorded 24 assists on 29 made shots, reflecting balanced ball movement.

Sophomore Dane Jacobsen led the Bulldogs with 24 points, shooting 5-6 from three and adding four assists. Junior Brooks Kissinger followed with 18 points, shooting 8-11 from the field. Senior Zac Kulus contributed with 15 points and a team-high of eight rebounds, and junior Jaxon Stueve added 11 points and three assists.

With the win, the Bulldogs finish the regular season 17-11 overall, and 11-9 in the Great Plains Athletic Conference. They will head into the Great Plains Athletic Conference tournament to play against Dordt at home on Wednesday, Feb. 25, at 8 p.m.
