Pancakes are one of the best foods, if not the best food ever to exist.

They are easy to make, easy to stack and easy to eat. They have an infinite number of combinations that go with them, they’re filling, and they can be eaten for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Pancakes are not only very versatile, but they are DELICIOUS. The most perfect pancake is one that is fried perfectly on both sides and fluffy in the middle, with a crispy layer of delicious goodness with the first bite.

The number of toppings that can be put on pancakes is practically preposterous  – strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, bananas, almond butter, peanut butter, cinnamon and honey butter and regular butter.

Maple syrup drenching a stack of buttery, fluffy, crispy pancakes must be a physical manifestation of God’s love for us.

I think I feel about pancakes the way Stanley from “The Office” feels about Pretzel Day. My pupils get wide, my mouth begins watering. My mind reels with ideas about the toppings I will lovingly place upon my perfect pancake stack.

Some say that waffles are better than pancakes. They have compartments that the syrup fits into! They are crispy! They are fluffy!

Waffles are not even on the same tier as pancakes. They take home the second-place ribbon. Pancakes are filling, soft, and easy to eat. They are easy to cut while waffles take some grit to slice. Waffles are also more fattening than pancakes – they contain more sugar and don’t even taste like it!

Pancakes are also easier to make! All you need is a skillet and heat, while waffles require a new kitchen accessory. Waffles are more difficult to get right because you cannot see how well they’re done. With pancakes, you can see how bubbly a pancake is – when it is time to flip it. With pancakes, you also are able to cook more than one at a time, while the waffle maker is only able to make one waffle.

Pancakes are time efficient, delicious, filling and versatile. THAT is why they are superior to any other food.
