The No. 4 Concordia University volleyball team advances to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics National Quarterfinal with a win on Dec. 5 over No. 11 The Masters University, 3-1.

The win was the second for Concordia in the Sioux City, Iowa, portion of the national tournament. The Bulldogs defeated Dakota Wesleyan 3-2 in the first game and Florida National in Seward in the opening nationals game.

The Bulldogs benefited from their excellence late in sets, as all three sets that they won were by a margin of two or three. The Masters took the second set by a wide 25-16 margin.

The Bulldogs had three players stand out on the hitting side and contribute to the .163 team hitting percentage. Senior Kya Scott led the hitting percentage with .220. That came from 15 kills on 41 attacks. Senior Ashley Keck had a team-high 16 kills on her 46 attacks, and junior Ella Waters had 10 kills off 28 attacks.

Seniors Lily Psencik and Savannah Shelburne once again split the setting duties with 17 and 19 assists each. Keck led the team with 13 digs, closely followed by sophomore Shandy Fa’ali’l with 12.

The Bulldogs have a tough challenge ahead of them as they are set to play No. 2 Providence in the national quarterfinal game. The match is set for Dec. 6 at 8:30 p.m.
