In a meet full of regional competition, the Concordia University cross-country teams placed seventh on the men’s team and fourteenth on the women’s side at the Dordt University Holiday Inn Express meet on Oct. 11.
The Bulldogs were led, once again, by junior Trey Robertson, who ran a season best of 25:23.97 in the 8k race, which earned him 22nd place. Robertson was closely followed by junior Aidan Limback, who ran a personal best 25:30.19 to claim 24th.
Rounding out the top six were freshman Abe Chance in 58th, sophomore Vaughn Hendrickson in 64th, junior Ransom Watts in 71st and junior Justin Sherman in 76th. All except 2024 All-American Hendrickson ran a personal best.
The women were without two-time Great Plains Athletic Conference runner of the week Keeli Greene, which gave sophomore Annaka Schlachter the opportunity to lead the Concordia line. Schlachter finished in 64th with a personal best 23:09.90 for the 6k.
Freshman Ashley Robertson was runner-up for the Bulldogs and placed 75th. The rest of the top six packed together well as sophomore Alison Stepanek came in 105th, freshman Rachel Harris placed 106th, freshman Izzi Brumbaugh got 108th, and junior Macee Ripke got 109th.
The Bulldogs are back in action on Oct. 25 for the Blazing Tiger meet in Ashland, Neb.
