The Concordia men’s soccer team drew 1-1 in double overtime with Doane in Crete on Wednesday, Oct. 21.

The draw moves the Bulldogs to 7-6-2 overall and 2-4-2 in GPAC.

The Bulldogs could only manage to get one goal despite shooting 32 times on the night and putting 15 shots on frame.

Doane struck first in the 16th minute when junior Mark Wallace found the back of the net off an assist by junior Gabe Garbin.

Concordia quickly responded when freshman Tyler Jensen slid the Bulldog’s lone goal by the Doane goalie at the 20:08 mark to nod the game at 1-1.

The Bulldogs kept Doane’s goalie busy all night by kicking 12 shots in the first half, 10 shots in the second half and 10 shots in the overtime periods.

It was a different story for Bulldog goalie, junior Mark Horsburgh, who only had two shots put on goal out of the 13 shots that Doane took on the night. Horsburgh’s lone save came in the first half.

The Bulldogs will hit the road for the last time this regular season as they head to Mitchell, South Dakota, to play Dakota Wesleyan at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 24.
