Home Sports Concordia Men’s Tennis Extends Win Streak to Three

Friday afternoon the Concordia men’s tennis team claimed its third straight win by defeating Tabor College 5-4.

The Bulldogs (4-4) won the match with two doubles competition and three singles competition victories.

In doubles competition, the Bulldogs won both the No. 1 and 2 spots. Willy Pardos and Javier Moreno filled the No. 1 doubles spots and won 8-6. In the No. 2 spots were Thomas Greeff and Patricio Esquivel, who won 8-2.

The Blue Jays made the match interesting by claiming the first two singles matches to take a 3-2 lead, but Concordia rattled off three straight wins to claim the 5-4 win. Moreno (7-5, 6-2), Esquivel (6-4, 6-3) and Gabriel Poling (6-2, 6-2) all collected wins in the singles competition.

The Bulldogs will be back in action on Friday, March 4 at home against Bethel College. First serve is set for 2 p.m.
