The Concordia men’s tennis team earned a 5-4 victory over Bethel College Friday afternoon in Walz Arena.

The Bulldogs (5-4) won one doubles match and four singles matches to claim the victory. The Bulldogs’ lone doubles match win came from the team of freshman Thomas Greeff and junior Patricio Esquivel, who won 8-2 over Gabe Johnson and Davian Lightbourne.

In singles play, Greeff and Esquivel both picked up straight set wins, as well as junior Javier Moreno. Junior Philip Yox clinched the victory with a three-set thriller, 6-4, 1-6 and 10-8.

The win marks the fourth straight for the Concordia men on the young year. The Bulldogs will travel for their next match at 2 p.m. on March 9 against Kansas Wesleyan in Salina, Kansas.
