Home Sports Concordia Suffers First GPAC Loss of Season

The Concordia women’s soccer team fell 1-0 in their GPAC home opener to Northwestern College on Saturday, Sept. 24. The loss moves the Bulldogs record to 5-3-1 on the year, with this being the first GPAC loss of the season.

Northwestern scored their lone goal 30 minutes into the first half off of a corner kick. Northwestern outshot Concordia 10-8 in the game.

Freshman Rachael Bolin had two early shots, with one on goal, but was unable to score.

After the break, Concordia continued its offensive barrage but was unable to connect on any shots. Northwestern tallied six total saves, and senior goalie Chrissy Lind had three saves on the day. Northwestern also utilized their substitutions during the second half of play.

Concordia will continue the season on Wednesday, Sept. 25 in Hastings against No. 12 Hastings. This second GPAC matchup is the first half of a double header with Hastings men’s and women’s soccer.
