The Concordia volleyball team went on the road to Hastings College this Saturday afternoon for a Great Plains Athletic Conference battle. The Bulldogs came out on top with a 3-0 sweep of the Broncos.

The Bulldogs showed a strong performance in the first set, winning 25-11. The second set saw a close start, with no team jumping out to a lead right away. However, Concordia took control towards the end of the set and won 25-17. The third set was a nail biter, but the Bulldogs completed the sweep with a 25-21 win.

Junior Bree Burtwistle led the Bulldogs with 37 assists out of the team’s 40. Freshman Ashley Keck had a team high of 11 kills, while sophomore Gabi Nordaker and junior Camryn Opfer both had 10 apiece. Sophomore Rebecca Gebhardt also had a fantastic outing, recording 21 digs.

The Bulldogs are now 21-3 overall and 12-3 in the GPAC. They will come back home to face a tough Midland team on Nov. 1 in Friedrich Arena.
