The Concordia volleyball team added another win to an impressive season Friday night against the Briar Cliff University Chargers. They won the match 3-0, making this their fifth consecutive sweep.

They came into the week ranked sixth in the nation among National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics teams, which is tied for the highest ranking in school history, and proved they deserve the elite status.

The Bulldogs started off hot, winning the first set 25-14. They followed that up with a second set victory of 25-13. Concordia made quick work of the Chargers in the third set, capping off the sweep and winning with a score of 25-10.

Junior Bree Burtwistle led the Bulldogs with 31 of the team’s 41 assists. Sophomore Gabi Nordaker led the team with nine kills. Fellow sophomore Karly Rodaway and freshman Ashley Keck followed close behind her with six kills apiece. Sophomore Rebecca Gebhardt also put on an impressive performance for Concordia with 14 digs.

The Bulldogs are now 15-1 overall and 6-1 in the Great Plains Athletic Conference. They play next at home Oct. 1 for Senior Day against the Morningside University Mustangs.
