Home Sports Concordia Women’s Soccer Loses in Final Minute

Despite outshooting Briar Cliff 15-5 on the day, the Concordia women’s soccer team lost 1-0 in the final minute of regulation on Saturday, Oct. 17.

The loss drops the Bulldogs to 8-5-1 overall and 2-4-1 in GPAC.

Concordia had no problem getting its shots off as the team had six shots in the first half and nine in the second.

Of the 15 shots, four were on target, but were all denied.

Briar Cliff struggled to put shots up as the team only shot twice in the first half and three times in the second.

However, the Chargers made their shots count.

Briar Cliff struck just in the of nick of time as sophomore Makenna Taylor slid the game-winning goal past Bulldog goalie Chrissy Lind with 32 seconds left in the game.

Concordia will look to snap a three-game losing skid as the team travels to Crete to face Doane College at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 21.
