The Concordia volleyball team completed their second straight sweep in as many days Saturday afternoon. The Bulldogs easily cruised past the MidAmerica Nazarene Pioneers, who were ranked 11 in the preseason top 25 coming into the year.

Concordia easily took care of the Pioneers in the first set, winning 25-15. They staved off a small Pioneer run early on, and the Bulldogs never relinquished the lead. Concordia also led the entire second set winning 25-16. The third set saw the Bulldogs down 3-5 early but ended very similarly to the first two sets, with a Bulldog victory of 25-15.

Concordia put up an impressive 42 kills through the three sets as a team, which was two higher than their team total against Langston on Friday. Sophomore Ashley Keck and junior Gabi Nordaker led the team in kills with 11 and 10 respectively. Senior Bree Burtwistle totaled an incredible 33 of the team’s 37 assists. Senior Cameryn Opfer led the team in digs with 16, and junior Rebecca Gebhardt was right behind her with 15 of her own.

Concordia remains undefeated with that win, bringing their record to 3-0. The ladies will start a five-game road stretch at Hastings College on August 29.
