The second-ranked Concordia University, Nebraska women’s basketball squad hosted the 66th annual Concordia Invitational Tournament in Walz Arena Friday night and beat Concordia University Wisconsin 107-65.

Junior guard Mary Janovich led the way for the Bulldogs with 19 points shooting seven for nine from the field in just 20 minutes. Sophomore forward Quinn Wragge and junior guard Brenleigh Daum also tallied double digits with 14 and 10 points, respectively. The Bulldog’s bench-clearing win saw all 15 players in the game, with 14 scoring.

The Bulldogs, coming into the tournament, were fresh off of a win over the eighth-ranked Hastings Broncos on Wednesday night and looked to keep the momentum against the Falcons from Wisconsin.

“We just focused on what we needed to do for this game,” said Janovich. “Hastings is in the past, and we just have to take it day by day for whoever our next matchup is.”

Concordia University Wisconsin guard Samantha Blissett lead the way for the Falcons with 16 points, but it was not enough to stop the Bulldog defense, as Concordia forced 34 turnovers from the Falcons in the contest.

“This was a great team win, everyone finds a special way to impact the game in a positive way,” said Janovich. “We can expect Ann Arbor is going to be focused and ready to play, that just gives us the drive to keep playing like we know how.”

The Bulldogs have a quick turnaround as they take on Concordia University Ann Arbor in the championship game of the Concordia Invitational Tournament. Tip-off is set for Saturday, Jan. 28 at 5 p.m.
