Wednesday night, the Doane Tigers downed the No. 15 Concordia volleyball team in four sets 25-19, 25-22, 18-25 and 25-14.

The loss drops the Bulldogs to 23-6 overall and 11-3 in GPAC.

In the opening set of a rematch from Sept. 16, Doane came out on fire as the Tigers outhit Concordia .462 to .179.

The Tigers continued to dominate in the second set when Concordia was held to a .057 hitting percentage while Doane hit .152.

In the third set, the Bulldogs looked like they found their groove. Concordia came out aggressive and slowed down Doane’s attack to extend the match.

In a pivotal fourth set, the Tigers proved to be too much for the Bulldogs. With a combination of great defense, efficient offense and Bulldog errors, the Tigers ran away from Concordia to claim the set and match.

Junior Paige Getz led the Bulldogs in kills with a match high 14 kills. Juniors Taylor Workman and Tiegen Skains and senior Claire White also chipped in 11, 8 and 9 kills respectively.

Concordia will look to return to its winning ways when the team hosts No. 6 Dordt College (21-4, 12-2) at 5 p.m. on Halloween night.
