IMPROVables’ first show of the year provides energy and entertainment with suggestions from the crowd

The IMPROVables created an energetic atmosphere during their first improv show of the school year. Many members of the audience came to support friends or loved ones involved with the show.
Toth said that he was glad the audience had creative, funny scene suggestions. He said that the energy and creativity of the audience really motivated the cast into giving more energy and creativity back to them. He said that he was happy with how the show went overall.
“I think we brought a lot of energy,” said Toth.
The audience was very invested in the storylines of each individual game.
A fan favorite game, Asides, is a game in which a character claps twice, steps aside, and reveals their true thoughts to the audience. Their scene partner’s character is unaware of their motivations.
Sophomore Bailey Boshert said that it was funny to see the characters reveal their true motives and plans to the audience.
“It was very entertaining and had a lot of energy,” said Boschert.
Senior Sarah Stepp also enjoyed this game specifically, noting the performance of sophomore David Rodriguez and sophomore Ayden Toth. During their scene Rodriguez and Toth were participating in a dance competition.
“David and Aydan did a really good job with their [Asides] scene,” said Stepp.
Stepp is a former panel member for IMPROVables. She said that she came to the show to support improv even if she is no longer participating in the same ways. She thought it was interesting to see a guessing game as a part of the show.
Guessing games can easily take up a lot of time that may make it difficult to finish the show within the hour time frame. Stepp said that while guessing games could be hard, the cast did a really good job with it.
The cast of the “Fashionably Late Improv Show” included junior Duncan Carrasco, senior Claire Horacek, sophomore Aydan Toth, sophomore David Rodriguez, senior Ellen Klintworth, senior Marieka Broudy, and junior Morgan Davis. The three panel members, or leadership, for IMPROVables this year are Carrasco, Horacek, and Toth.
