Home Sports Men’s Golf Finishes 14 out of 22 in Kansas

The Concordia men’s golf team began the final stretch of their season on April 2-3 at the Bethel College Spring Invitational and finished 14th out of 22 teams, shooting a combined 634.

The first day of competition took place at the Hesston Golf Course in Hesston, Kansas. The golfers scored a 318 on day one. On the second day, the golfers tallied a combined 316 competing at Sand Creek Station in Newton, Kansas.

Junior Reid Wiebe led the Bulldogs by shooting a combined 153 (77-76) which earned 33rd place. Freshman Nolan Zikas was the next top Bulldog, also finishing in the top 50 with a score of 158 (80-78). Other top finishers for Concordia were: senior Sam Simonson, sophomore Russell Otten and junior Jared Knoepfel tallying 159, 160 and 163 respectively.

The Bulldogs will continue their season on April 11 in Lincoln at the Firethorn Country Club. Concordia will compete against other GPAC schools in their third qualifying meet of the season.
