The Concordia Men’s soccer team defeated Doane Wednesday evening for the last regular game of the season. The men completed their undefeated season, winning 5-1.

The scoring started early, as freshman Michael Owens scored off of an assist from fellow freshman Ferdi Hagan in the 4’. Doane fired back and scored in the 9’ to level the score. Owens found the back of the net yet again in the 29’ for his second consecutive game with two goals. The Bulldogs went into the halftime break with a 2-1 lead.

In the second half, Concordia came out hot as junior Ryan Wokutch scored in the 51’. Senior Matt Schultz was the next to score, with a goal in the 57’. Freshman Okan Erkocu assisted on the goal. Erkocu then scored a goal of his own in the 78’ to make the final score 5-1.

The Bulldogs attempted 20 shots as a team, 13 of which were shots on the goal. Junior goalkeeper Nolan Fuelberth played the entire game, only allowing one goal and recording two saves.

Concordia finishes the season with an overall record of 13-0-4 and 7-0-4 in the Great Plains Athletic Conference. They will play in the GPAC tournament quarterfinals on Nov. 1. The time, location, and team they will face are still to be determined.
